Is the EVGA 700b good enough for this setup?

Hey guys, I just bought a new nvidia 1080 asus strix, I used to have the cx 600 but changed it to a evga 700b for safety measures. Is it good enough? Also I connect my computer to a voltage regulator and a no-break.

The rest of my components are this:
Motherboard: gigabyte h97m-d3hp
Ram: 16gb hyperx
CPU: i7 4790k

Besides the cpu, are the other components ok for my new graphics card? Thank you very much I appreciate your help a lot!

The 700b (i.e., 672W or 56A at +12V) is way more than enough for your i7-4790K + GTX 1080 rig (even with OC).

Personally, I would have gotten the better-quality EVGA SuperNova G2 550 (costs the same as the EVGA 700B), but has better build-quality/components, longer warranty, and features. The 550W is still more than enough for your current setup.

It's not a real bad PSU , it's mediocre , can easily run those specs. For some regions it's a decent power supply as sometimes there isn't a lot of choices.

It has a 3 year warranty and all the needed protections:

Heavy-duty protections, including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection)

You'd still be fine using the EVGA 700B. You'd only be using drawing around the vicinity of ~250W. so, in terms of efficiency, its a bit lower (using just ~35% or less of the PSU's 672W rated load). Best efficiency is achieved within the neigborhood of 50% usage.

It's a very good question.

In first place, the wattage is not the real and most important factor when buying a psu. In this case, evga 700b has an excessive wattage, but it is a cheap component quality elaboration, it has not the same protections that Seasonic 620w (for example) has, so read the PSU Tier list before buying a psu again. Personally, i prefer a 500w 80+ bronze psu with good components, than a 850w (for example) which is a bad move. -Not all high wattage psu are bad, you can see it on their costs.

Does having a voltage regulator and a no break compensate on the low quality psu that I bought? I just dont want anything to happen to my the graphics card and Im a little afraid. Thanks in advance you two guys are the best.
