Is the EVGA GTX 660 FTW version worth it?

single 1920x1080 monitor 60hz
BF3 mostly

If you play games at 1080p sure... if you play at 7680x1600 then no... It is all situational... I am goin gto assume you play games at 1080p, now the question what are you trying to compare it too? Are you asking if it is worth the extra X amount of dollars vs a reference GTX 660?

I am wondering if theres any point of going for it over the reference EVGA card, by the way im in UK so use amazon or ebuyer or overlockers.co.uk #

My budget is £165 but i will go £175 for the ftw if theres a point

GTX 660 is a good choice for this, but my GTS450 runs Bf3 at 1920x1080x32@60Hz with everything set to Ultra (Medium/4X Anti-Aliasing, 8X Anisotropic Filtering) without the smallest bit of lag. Motion blur off.

If you don't mind overclocking yourself (very easy all you have to do is move the core clock offset slider ) then just get the cheapest one with a decent after market cooler on it. These two are the cheapest i found on amazonUK.

You could do that... it will be slightly louder and run a bit warmer. But if you have bad case airflow I would get the stock blower either way...

Personally I would fork over the extra £7.50 and get the better cooled card, would make overclocking it and keeping it at good temps easier... Unless of course like i said - you have bad case airflow.

Both cards should perform nearly identically, but I prefer EVGA due to their service and support.

Go for evga gtx 660 ftw.evga is one of best manufactures of nvidia gpu.it is a Ftw card so it has better pcb design and good cooling materials.

I think Im going for the FTW version as apparently it has better cooling, i have very good airflow (corsair 200r)
