is the fx 4130 good for gaming

Solution
The 6300 is def best bang for buck atm (£85? or close to$100?- in uk) 6 cores will help... check out bf4 cpu b/marks. I would say min 6300, then a 8320, or an i5(k version) Motherboards important to read if* you're oc'in (6+2 phases+ etc) Hope it helps. (i3 not great for bf4- dual core)

The FX 4130 is a good processor and performs pretty well gaming wise from what I know, but if you're looking for the best gaming performance i5 or what WaSquids suggested a 6300 or 8320 would be a better choice over the FX 4120 and i3, if you're looking for pure gaming performance than in most cases the i3 performs just under the FX 4130.

Yeah I agree, this processor is clearly the best bang for buck at its price range, and is only around £20 more expensive that the FX 4300, and yes there is a point getting more than a quad core as newer generation games are now starting to support more cores and hyperthreading! :)
