I've got the same mobo, was looking at upgrading my cpu to a phenom II 955 or 965 and found this thread. This review says they are compatible, I hope they are but I can't say for sure.

Can anyone confirm if they are supported?

It doesn't look like i can post the link but it is a review for rev 1.0 and it says:

"This motherboard has Split Power Plane design, with a 4+1 phase power design to support AMD's latest 45nm AM3 Athlon II and Phenom II series multi-core processors. This motherboard will even support 140W processors like the upcoming Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition."

I found the CPU & Memory compatibility list for 1.0 here: www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2982#. According to this, even the X6 line is supported.

the board will take any AM3 processor as long as the bios is updated to F9G which is the latest.

however as it a AM2+ board, it will loose speed on the hypertransport IIRC.

I have the rev 2.0 of this board and i will be doing the same upgrade as you too. Its the reason why i bought it actually.
