[SOLVED] Is the Gigabyte Z390-GAMING-X-rev-10 compatible with CPU I7 7700

Hi Folks,

Simple but easy,

Is the Gigabyte Z390-GAMING-X-rev-10 compatible with CPU I7 7700. The page of Gigabyte is a bit confusing, because when I bought this board it showed I7 compatible. Now I have bought the i7 7700 and see on the page https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-GAMING-X-rev-10/support#support-cpu that it is not compatible.

I cannot test it because I bought most parts on different places, and they arrive soon, but I have only a few days to return the CPU

No. The 7xxx series CPUs require a 100 or 200 series motherboard. If you want to keep the motherboard then you need to buy a different, compatible, CPU.

So I better can buy a Intel Core i7-9700KF Coffee Lake Refresh, Cache 12MB, 3.6GHz (4.9GHz Max Turbo), LGA 1151 (without video) for this mainboard?

As long as you have a dedicated gpu the 9700KF will work.

Again thanks for your answer. I have a MSI AMD Radeon RX 580 Armor X, 8GB, GDDR5 - RX 580 ARMOR X, it should arrive next monday. So the 9700KF works.
