I have a IPISB-CU (Carmel2) motherboard but I have read numerous articles stating that the GTX 660 was not compatible with the Carmel Mobo by pegatron and upon booting the pc the screen would remain at the HP Splash Menu. The reason I am asking this is because I am looking into buying a new GPU, but I need to know if it will work with this mobo before purchasing. Thanks

Solution
Your motherboard looks like it has a PCI express x16 2nd gen in it which is compatible with the gtx 660, just make sure you have enough power in your system and you should be fine 😀

Yes I was planning on purchasing a 600 watt PSU from Corsair with my GPU. Thanks for the response! I guess I'll look a little more into it and try my luck and purchase it. Thanks again

Yup, 600 watts should be more then enough to power up the system, my personal recommendation:

Yup, That's the one! Thanks

Update! This mobo is not compatible with any GPU other than the one it came with. An easy fix to this problem is to just buy a new motherboard. So i'll probably have to hash out another $100 for a descent Mobo.

Where/How did you find out that the Carmel2 isn't compatible with any other GPU?

I just purchased an EVGA GTX 760 to replace the PNY GTX 460 in my HP8e-1114 and it will NOT load past bios. I upgraded the bios to the latest 7.16 for the IPISB-CU (Carmel2) motherboard and still nothing. I have found a couple threads on thespeakeasyclinic where a guy had the same issue and had to swap mobos. This mobo is utter junk. Now I am stuck with my 460 >.<. Buying a new mobo for my hp is like putting a gold ring in a pigs snout.

Haha yep that sounds like the post I read. I talked to the guy and yea he said he had to get a new motherboard...shit sucks haha wish I would have known about this before purchasing an HP. At least I found out about this before purchasing a new GPU

No, the newest that will work is a GTX 500 series. I was forced to use a GTX 580 in mine before getting a whole new PC. It was this experience that taught me to NEVER buy a pre-built POS PC from HP or any other manufacturer. They don't support their hardware.
Send back/sell everything and build your own PC. You will learn alot and have something you can be proud of.
