Is the GTX 660 enough for (Almost) Ultra 720p?

Solution
It would run some games in medium-high in 720p
Pubg is a badly optimised game....so it might stutter a bit
GtaV must run fine at 720p medium settings
I would rather suggest u to upgrade to something like a 1050ti or 970,960,780.....get any of these cards in the used market...nd u'll be able to play those games at 1080p mid-high settings
720p only reduces the amount of pixels the GPU has to render. This wont affect the number of polygons and scene complexity too much. Texture demand will also stay the same in the scene and 720p does not directly translate into magical ultra capability on every level.

I have a 660 in an older i7 PC for my kids, and Stardew valley Runs pretty good on it 😉 , and many other games also run decent for that old card but mostly not on ultra, mostly around medium settings. 720p does not make things much faster when too many polygons, shaders and large volume of textures (660 only has 2gb of VRAM) are being invoked the 660 still struggles compared to much more modern cards.
But pretty much everything runs and is playable to some extent which is a big plus and older games will work OK on it , if they are old enough they will even run well on ultra. Most games from the last 5 years I would say no.
