So my current rig is a
i7-4770k
Asus z87-c
GTX 670
and 16 gb of RAM
money isn't much of a problem but if I could save a few bucks id like to, however my main focus is the future. Would it be worth upgrading now so I can be prepared for upcoming games?

A friend of mine is running Far Cry 4 just fine on his 760 and your 670 beats that so you'll be fine. In the end its up to you I'm just giving you my two cents.
The price for the 980 and 970 is only gonna go down with the card you have I would wait. I'm using a 660ti and I have no problem getting 60 FPS on Ultra in all the games I've played. Early next year AMD should be revealing their new 3XX series which will drive the price down even more. I personally would wait unless you're having trouble running games.

Well I would like to be able to play Far Cry 4, Arma 3, DayZ, and GTA V when it finally releases for PC on ultra. So basically huge open world games and still have it look nice and run nice.
