is the hd 7850 still good in 2015?

Solution
It will still be good in 2015, but not great. If you're not starting your build until next year, there's no real reason to plan on using that card unless you happen to have one lying around already. Better cards for cheaper will be out by the time you start your build.

As more games are released with the next gen consoles in mind. You'll prolly have to settle for medium to low settings at 1080p. Games like watch dogs, battlefield and shadows of mordor are already starting to want 4+ GB of vram for uktra and high settings.

I own a Sapphire 2gb 7850. I game at 1080p and bought the card 2 years ago and I'm still very happy about the performance but I won't lie. you won't be able to run ultra in the newest games but it handles BF4 on ultra and most newer games on high with smooth fps so it's still a great card and I'm will only consider upgrading when the next gen. gpu comes out. Also the card overclocks really well. I have been able to overclock the card with +33% making it equal to a 7870 without increasing the voltage.

So yeah unless you want >60 fps in all games this card still performs very well.
