I have an HP ProBook 430 G5 laptop and a GIGABYTE Gen3 2500E SSD 500GB, and as the SSD box says and as the website says, read speed is up to 2300 MB/s so I would expect my read speeds to be at least above 2000 MB/s. I know it says UP TO but I'm getting read speeds of only 1500 MB/s and the drive on my laptop is less than a week old and has only had a run time of 40 hours. The write speeds are normal, so what could be the problem with the read speed.
Might there be any drive issues that I haven't installed yet? I'm using CrystalDiskMark and Windows CMD to test my drive speeds and they are both giving me the same output.
CrystalDiskInfo is telling me that I'm only using it as PCIe 3.0 x2 instead of x4 so I'm wondering if the HP ProBook 430 G5 is compatible with it ?
I have a feeling I don't have a setting turned on or something that is not allowing me to reach it's full potential.
I also saw this thread on the HP support community but there are two different answers.
