Is the i5-3570 a good CPU?

I am buying a i5-3570 and i am also buying a MSI Z77A-G41 LGA 1155 motherboard for it. Will these two components work well together? And also will this graphics card combined with the CPU and motherboard i am getting be enough to play Skyrim on Ultra settings and maybe even Battlefield 4? Since you are getting the Z77 and are spending all that money you should probably get the 3570k just in case you decide to tweak some setting and get a little more performance out of it later. Having the flexibility is pretty nice.

Why not save a few extra bucks and get a 4690k and Z97?

This would be A LOT better. You chose the outdated Intel 3rd generation motherboard and CPU, this is the equivalent but in the 4th generation. The motherboard can overclock that CPU and you'll definitely want to look into that in the future, it'll save you a lot of money in the long run because it will keep your system alive for a bit longer. Also, the r9 270 and r9 270x are the exact same GPU, but the 270x is 100MHz faster. You can achieve this and even more my installing MSI afterburner and simply putting the core clock at +100MHz or 1000MHz total. It costs almost the same as your original parts, but it's much better. If you need help overclocking later on down the road (though I recommend overclock your 270x immediately as it's extremely easy to do), you can always ask for help in the overclock section of the forums. It's actually rather simple and I'm sure someone will dig up a good video tutorial for you.

Holy crap man the i5-4690 KILLS the i5-3570 and it is like $20 cheaper wow. So is it better in every way than the i5-3570? And i do not want the K version because i do not want in the overclocking business until i get more advanced with PC.

Thanks . I will consider overclocking the MSI R9 270 instead of buying the MSI R9 270X but i really do not want to get into overclocking until i get more advance i just want to buy a CPU and motherboard than can handle games like Skyrim on ultra settings and maybe even Battlefield 4.

Like I said, you don't have to have anything to do with overclocking until you DO get more familiarized with PCs. But trust me, it's really, REALLY simple to do and you'll regret massively not spending the extra 50$ on a overclockable motherboard and CPU in a year or two. Trust me my friend!

Ok thanks man. The only reason i brought up the Intel Core i5-3570 is because next year i will be doing a $1,000 to $2,000 PC build. I am mainly building this PC for my wife. I know the i5-3570 is last gen but my friend has it and it works with battlefield 4 on ultra without even getting over temp and he even has a stock fan with it and he has a much worse Graphics card than me. I wish i could get the latest gen but i cant go over $200 for a cpu on this build sadly

And also sadly it took me FOREVER to find a compatible MB to go with the i5-4590 that will not requir a Bios flash n stuff but i managed to find on tell me what ya think of this MB called ASRock H97M Pro4 LGA 1150 here is the link also. And happy 4th man.

People have confirmed that it functions with the 4590 and this specific motherboard is actually listed as one of the top recommended motherboards for non-overclockable Haswell CPUs of the 4590 specifically and any other CPU that isn't unlocked. MSI is just terrible at maintaining their websites, my MSI Z77a GD55 was compatible with my 3770k while the website had no mention of it until 3 months after I purchased it. However, if you like the ASRock, you can get it if you like, but it's a mini ATX format, meaning it will look really small in a normal case and has less expansions and also costs more. It also has no reviews which is a bit spooky, you always want to have a few lab rats before purchasing a new product. The MSI however has pretty much all 5 star reviews except for one idiot who rated it 3 stars because he didn't do research and just assumed that it can overclock. That's his own fault, yet he gave it a bad review. The other bad reviews IS MSI's fault though, as they're falsely advertising support for RAID which has frustrated a couple people. So you're fine as long as you don't want to use RAID or overclock.
