Is the i5-4300m good enough for video editing?

Is the i5-4300m, Intel HD4600 and 8GB RAM, a good combo for HD video editing? In how much time it would render and export an AVCHD file of 40GB (around 6 hours and a half of movie)? Any estimation?

a quad core mobile i7 would be almost x2 faster. and a desktop i7 would be almost x3 times faster.

no idea. i just have an idea of the relative strength of the cpu in comparison to other options. and based my answer on that.

every rendering software will be different. if you can find time for 40gb rendering in your software of choice and post the system those times were achieved on, i probably can give you a ballpark estimate.
