[SOLVED] Is the i7 8700K compatible for my Motherboard?

Currently i have an i5 6500 processor and a nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, i was thinking of upgrading to an I7 8700K CPU but would this mean i would have to change my motherboard too? my Motherboard is the Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. G1.SNIPER B7-CF (U3E1)

The 8700K is 8th gen CPU. Your board limits you to 6th and 7th gen CPU so you'd have to buy a new board.

For an unlocked 'K' CPU a Z390 board would allow you use the 8700k to its full potential. Select one in your price range that has other features that you need. You'll also be able to use much faster memory than you have now if you want.
