Is the i7 9700k worth it?

So currently i have i7 3770
And i’m planing to upgrade ASAP
Because it bottlenecks my GTX 1080 ti
But the problem i can’t decide whether i should get 9700k 8/8 or 8700k 6/12
I moslty game and work with it but my work don’t have anything too havy for the CPU so i only care about gaming preforms

currently 9700k = 410$ , 8700k = 370$
