Solution
With Intel's 11th gen out in about ~2 months, I'd wait...or at least consider it.

For gaming, as it is, the GTX580 is likely close to saturated as is with the 7700K anyway, and, although gaming while streaming would be improved with a CPU of course, I doubt your average FPS would be substantially boosted for just pure gaming.

If gaming only, you'll probably see a bigger upgrade with a better GPU. If it is more "work", the i9 10850K will be better in most aspects with 10 cores / 20 threads.

Agree with both... former 7700k user who upgraded to the 10900k. I went that route for both gaming and work... with work being video processing/encoding as well as CAD related software design for my job.

I actually ran the 7700k for a week or so with the 3090 while waiting on my hardware to show up and after I upgraded the CPU there wasn't a massive difference other than the overall framerate being a lot smoother in MSFS2020. If you're only playing WoW classic you're fine... that game can be run on laptops with integrated graphics.

GPU is your best upgrade... CPU will be a boost... just don't expect out of this world differences.
