I would like to know if the ID-Cooling Frostflow X 240mm is good enough for overclocking a 7700x. (I know I shouldn't overclock with my PSU, but that is not the point of the question).

Specs;
PC specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X, CPU Cooler: ID Cooling Frostflow X 240mm AIO GPU: RX 6800 RAM: 32GB of DDR5-6000, PSU Thermaltake smart 700w, storage: Samsung 980 pro 2TB, Motherboard: Asus tuf b650m plus wifi.

Sig space specs can and will change over time rendering this thread and any suggestions moot to the user in the same boat as you(reading this thread). This is why I've added your specs to the body of the thread.

You forgot to mention the make and model of your chassis, the number of fans in your chassis and the orientation of said fans in chassis. Ambient room air temps? Temps you're seeing now when idle and when under load? Please include them.

You might want to replace that PSU before you think about overclocking unless you're looking for an excuse to buy another system.

I know this thread is a bit old, but my question never really got answered after I posted the temps. The temps under load are actually around 70-80C, everything else is correct. Also I have replaced the PSU in my build.

Decent PSU, should provide stable power for OCing. Try by taking baby steps, when system becomes unstable, back it off a smidge.

Not all enable sigs be displayed. They can become VERY distracting when reading through a thread. Just something to be aware of.

I have been able to hit 5.4ghz before. I am going to see if just enabling PBO gives me a higher Cinebench r23 score than a manual 5.4ghz OC. I am fully aware that there is a lot more to performance than Cinebench, but just for a point of comparison. Also I was able to hit 5.475ghz, but it became unstable, and as hard as I try, I cannot hit 5.5 GHz. If I could hit 5.5, I would be satisfied.
