Is the Intel Core i5-4690K good for gaming?

I don't really know anything about Intel processors. I'm going to pair it with a 290x if that helps. I'm worried that the processor won't be powerful enough.

It is a GREAT CPU for gaming, it can handle any game you throw at it and any set of graphics cards you want to SLI or XFIRE, enjoy..

The great thing about gaming (unlike video rendering) is that it isn't a very cpu-heavy task. The cpu you picked out has 4 cores at 3.5 ghz which is very good for gaming. And since you are getting a dedicated graphics card (and a good one at that), you won't need to worry about the intel graphics that is in the cpu itself. So, yes that CPU is VERY good for gaming.
