Is the intel core i7-3770s good for games like garrys mod?

Is the intel core i7-3770s good for games, not big games but games you can download like Garry's mod and horror games?

That chip is great for even big games (depending on your graphics card) the only difference between that and the K model is a locked multiplier, so you can't overclock it.

...and the "s" means it's a low watt version with a lightly lower base clock. Don't pay a premium for it over a regular 3770 unless power is a concern for you.

The i7-3770s goes for $305 on Newegg and the i5-3570k goes for $219 so you could save about $90 by going for the i5-3570k and have a much better gaming CPU with an unlocked multiplier. The i7-3770s has a stock speed of 3.1ghz compared to the stock speed of 3.4ghz for the i5-3570k which can be further overclocked much higher.
The only advantage the i7-3770s has is Hyper threading which most all games do not take advantage of. So from a gaming standpoint the i5-3570k is the much better and less expensive option.

According to that package your going to be using the intergrated graphics for your video or do you plan on adding a video card?

If they have a less expensive package with the i5-3570k then the savings will allow you to get a video card for gaming.

I would get a Xeon 1230 v2 over a 3770. If you want to game, you will need a dedicated GPU. IGP gaming is not something I would consider an enjoyable experience.

Of the two Pc configurations that you listed it would be a toss up as to which is better since they are both going with integrated graphics. The AMD APU may have a slight edge on the integrated graphics chip of the Intel CPU and could be the better choice but the difference is not much and would not be a significant advantage.

That's not a bad choice since it comes with a separate video card. If you can afford it this would be a much better system.
