can i ask a question, the i7-980x is way more $$$$ than a i7 9900k and it seems way worse as well?

In my experience, yes it is IF you have 16 GB of RAM on your particular motherboard and a good video card.

That i7 CPU has six computing cores running at 3.33 GHz and is a fast enough CPU for even the newest and best online games (when matched with 16 GB of ram and a good graphics card).

May struggle a bit in titles that are heavily dependent on single-threaded performance due to the 980X being an ancient CPU that has ~500MHz lower clocks and ~40% lower IPC than current-gen Intel and AMD CPUs.
