is the lenovo y50-y70 touch hdd compatible

Hi so quick story 2 years ago my mom bought me a laptop the y50-y70 it broke down after a few months so me mum was very disappointed at me, so this month she's giving me money to buy a replacement part for the laptop so I was wondering is the y50-y70 touch hdd compatible or is it not? I'm asking this since an hdd is much cheaper than an ssd

You should be able to use a standard laptop drive in the system but it will be a lot slower. If the drive broke a few months after you got it, why did you not contact Lenovo for warranty support?

the guy told me that the screws were missing as such it cannot be fixed
