Is the LG 22EN33 50 or 60Hz? and if so how do I make it 60Hz?

So as my current monitor for my gaming PC I have a LG 22EN33 however I did not buy this monitor meaning that I do not know the stats of it. Unfortunately recently some games (space engines and the division) have started to become out of range for something in my computer and having recently changed my GPU and am still having the same problem I can only assume it is my monitor. However because I did not buy this monitor I do not know the Hz of it and therefore can not figure out what the problem is. I have gone to the website which says the monitor is 60Hz which I would believe other than the fact that some games can not be played on it. So because of this I have come to the conclusion that, other than me being misinformed, it must be a fatality monitor or have something wrong in the settings. So my question is; is this monitor actual 60Hz and if so does anyone know what my problem might be and how to fix it. I ask this question because I was going to buy a new monitor before as I was under the impression that it was 50Hz or less however due to the website telling me that the monitor is 60Hz and some of my games which I can play saying that they are at 60Hz I have recently come to a uncertainty as to weather buying a new monitor is necessary.

*side note; just when into the menu to find that the monitors menu its self claims that it is '1920x1080p 60Hz' which makes me think that it might just be that this monitor is in fact just so cheap that it can not run games of such a graphical requirement.

The monitor has nothing to do with how you run the game (in practice, in theory it may but that is mostly irrelevant). The issue is something else with your PC. Can you tell us your specs, and exactly what do you mean by "can not run games?" Is it a low FPS that you are experiencing? Does it seem laggy?

Ow sorry I do not mean performance wise that I can not play them, although I realise how vague I was, I am very well aware that your performance is dictated prominently by your RAM and GPU and also you CPU (although slightly less so than the other two). I can most defiantly run these games for 2 reasons; 1. when I swap my monitor for my brothers to test whether there was a flaw with my computer the games run fine. 2. I have a GTX 980 so most any games can be run by me at the moment,in 1080p. What I mean is the screen goes grey and a box comes up in the middle to tell me that the game is 'out of range' which is why I though it might be clock speed however as I have never had need to look into a new monitor I know little of what each stat means and what else can could be out of range.
Sorry about not mentioning this before I realize now how it is one of the more important points :).

Can you tell me please exactly what that box says, word by word? Also can you tell me how you connect your PC to your monitor (what type of connector and is it coming off of the GPU or the mobo?)

I am using D-sub for my cable from my GPU (as that is the only one the monitor has a connection for) and I can not remember what the box says exactly but it lists two frequencies showing 1 lower frequency and then a '/' and then a higher frequency. which is why I though initially that it was my monitors clock speed. as for the exact frequencies listed I will not be on my gaming computer till the weekend due to waiting on new parts and then I will have to install the games that do not work as I uninsulated them because I saw little reason on keeping unplayable games, so it might take a while to tell you the exact readings.

That is not reading's it is what comes up in the middle of the screen as an error message it says:
(larger frequency)/(smaller frequency)
out of range
This error message is actually from the monitor it's self as well.
