Is The Linux System Administrator Course Worth For A Programmer?

I am currently on my software engineering degree and since i wont learn linux in the degree, i wanted to know if a linux system administrator course will be beneficial for a software engineer? Will it open doors for my IT career? And is the money i pay for it worth?

The certification itself is always of some use in any IT related job, even in software development. At the least it will enable you to better plan your software projects out and make you aware of some of the potential caveats associated with certain OS deployments.
