Is the M-Audio Revolution supposed to sound bad?

I bought an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 off of Ebay cause I thought it would be a great upgrade from Creative, boy was I wrong. This card is horrible with games. Does not support EAX, had no onboard inputs, specifically digital inputs direct from DVD players. The sound on music is "so so" at best. Latest drivers solve nothing. 4.0 surround emulation sounds like ass for music.

Sigh, guess it's back to Creative Audigy 2 Platinum unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Well, after much tweaking it's sounding significantly better on Audio. Some of my problem were the stank MP3's that sounded like ass. Using better source material has improved the sound. I also cleared up a driver conflict as well. Sigh... guess I'll give it a few more weeks to see if I can make it work.

For music mAudio is almost as good as an oldy MX300, so you should be fine as long as drivers and stuff is ok.
