[SOLVED] Is the MSI B450 Gaming Plus compatible with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600x

Hi, i'm looking for a new motherboard/cpu combo to replace my intel set up and complment my vega 56.
I've read that with the msi b450 plus you need to download a bios update, it says that you can do it via usb or a button on the board .
Is this correct? and can you do it without a old amd chip ( i only have intel).

Yes, you can update the BIOS on that motherboard without a CPU installed. Instructions on how to do this are in the manual.

Basically unless you want PCIe 4.0 there isn't much reason to go for that X570 over the B450 you were looking at.
