Is the MSI H170 Gaming M3 a good motherboard for gaming? Do not need overclock or dual-gpu configs.

I'm pretty much set my eyes on the MSI H170 Gaming M3 as my motherboard, mainly because of browsing some of the topics here and some reviews on the net. But I want to be sure with my purchase :)

I'm planning on a build with the i5-6500 and RX 480, and don't really need overclocking or SLI / Crossfire. Planning to put probably up to 8GB RAM only. Also not sure if I will RAID though? Probably would be a welcome addition to the future, but not too important to me.

Is there any better alternatives that you would suggest? I'm kind of on a budget around $100-120ish.

sorry, i was kind of sleeping 😛
ok so MSI B150 Mortar. is the best thing you can buy.
if no Overclock is planned to do then this cheap motherboard will do the job

Sorry, you probably misunderstood the budget part. I'm not talking about the budget of the whole build, just the one for the motherboard.

The MSI H170 Gaming M3 is $120 at Newegg, which is the top price bracket of my budget range. Another example on the lower end is the MSI B150 Mortar which is $82.99 at Newegg. I'm not yet sure though if missing the features from H170 is worth the savings.

No worries :) Thanks very much for the input!

We got the same eyes bro. It caught my eye too. I even planned to get i3 6100 just for that mobo but the fact is much of its feature would be useless. I just want the design srsly i dont have plans until now lol. So what mobo did u pick right now? How it goes?

Yup, already got the H170 motherboard :) Still waiting for the other parts though

I already got the other parts from my old build (Case, PSU, Storage) so only getting the things I need. I decided with the H170 just because I think that it won't hurt to spend a few more bucks to get a better built-in sound card and better design.

if you no overclocking or sli , only play game H170 Gaming M3 is good choose.
this motherboard has killer lan, audio boost , wtfast........... for gaming feature.
