So I recently upgraded my CPU and GPU, but realized that with my new CPU cooler, it blocks the GPU slot so I had to get a new motherboard. I went and bought the MSI X570-A PRO because it will be here the soonest (Most motherboards are out of stock and won't be here for weeks :c), but after some more research, I found out that the VRM runs hot and can throttle the CPU. Honestly I would've canceled this order already, but newegg doesn't let you cancel after it's charged your card, even if it hasn't shipped yet.

I don't really plan to Overclock or anything, just keeping things at stock stuff and I just plan to do some gaming at 1440p and some live streaming on twitch. Would this board be an issue for me?

I don't it bad that the op paid $150 for a board, I just find it bad the op spent $150 on that board.

The OP could have gotten a $120 B450 Tomahawk MAX and it would have far superior VRM performance.

Honestly even a $75 AsRock B450M PRO4 motherboard would probably perform about on par with the $150 X570 A PRO.

You MAY be able to get away with it, but I think its a horrible idea.
For a 3900x, yes its that bad.

The MSI x570 a pro is basically the worse board here but with even less cooling
I saw this video, but I'm pretty sure these stats are based on pushing the board to its absolute limit, which I'm not entirely sure I will be doing if I'm just doing gaming at 1440p and live streaming, right?

My case has 5 fans in it and I heard that with good case cooling, it should be fine.

Really not a good choice for a 3900x. It doesn't make any sense that you would buy a 300 dollars keyboard and a 200 dollars mouse but a 150 dollars motherboard and like the worst one ;p

The 3900x is a 12 cores 24 threads. Even if you don't overclock the VRM's will get so hot and it's just not a good board for that CPU really.

Yeah like I said, it was the only motherboard that was going to come the soonest. All other motherboards I find come in like a week or 2. I was going to cancel the order, but since it already charged my card, I can't so I'm just kind of stuck with it.

Do you think you could help me find a good motherboard that's in stock and will deliver soon? the 1st one you mentioned is out of stock and the second one won't come till the 7th. I'm just getting really impatient because I've already had to wait awhile for all my other parts just to have to replace my motherboard all of a sudden bc the CPU cooler is too large.

Where do you buy your parts?

I have the MSI X570 A-Pro. Other than having to disable something in the BIOS to get the monitor and display port working during the build. I've had no issues with it. I run a slight overclock but nothing crazy, but I also have 9 case fans with 3 blowing right on the VRM's.

Only reason I went with the MSI board was because I had a MSI 2070 super and I didn't want to have 6 programs needed to run all my rainbow LED's. Try to keep it down to 2 or 3.
