- I need a GPU regardless.
- I have an MSI X870E Carbon mobo still in the box.
- Newegg combo would result in +$600 mobo cost, assuming a perfect world.

Inputs?

Do you need a 5090?
The price difference between a used Asus Strix 4090 and a new MSI Suprim SOC 5090 is smaller than the performance gain.

I have three 1440p monitors, and the Strix 4090 could not maintain 60 FPS on Forza at max settings. (I sold my Strix 4090 a month before the 5090 launch)

Plus, I am going full liquid cooling this round.

It depends. Is there a feature or features on it that are not present in the Carbon that you will get real use out of? I personally don't see features I need once you get past the high midrange motherboards, but each of us has different motivations.
Yeah, the only thing I could use is the second water pump header, but I don't need it.

Motherboards are about the set of features(that the user will actually use) and looks.
The Godlike, and similar boards, are really just showcase boards. "Let's give a board all the bells and whistles, and toss in the kitchen sink too, just because we can."
Few folks are actually going to utilize all the stuff that's loaded on these boards.

Did you span the display across all three monitors, instead of running the game on just one of them? That would be a significant ~33% more pixels to drive than 4k.

Worth is subjective, as we all view it differently.
Many can't relate, as a 5090 is beyond what they're willing to spend on a GPU, and thus say no on principle; the Godlike motherboard would be no different here.
Some might even say yes, just to see/hear you spend money on a board you didn't really need...

I suppose it comes down to how badly you want a 5090 right now.
