Is the new ALi chipset any good?

Looking to buy an Athlon for a while now, but after much thought I decided not to accept anything with a VIA chipset.

I noticed Iwill's new XP333/R equipped with ALi's new chipset (north & south bridges). Is this the only board featuring this chipset so far? Anyone planning on buying one? If so, what led you to your purchasing decision?

Cheers,

ALi chipset for Athlon, do you mean the Magik1?

Thats hell of a good chipset, and it comes in the Asus A7A266 board. Now they have revised it to rev C which is supposed to perform at par with the VIA KT266A! But I gues we woould have to wait until we get a ALi Magik1 rev C chipset board.

But we have to wait for it for a while. If the board yoou said really has the same chip, its great. Too bad those arent available in India. Anyway, I would prefer to wait for a Asus A7A266, I already have one.

BTW ALi chipsets still use PCI bus for interlink, everybody else has develoed a proprietory faster links.
