Is the on-board GPU on my Asus P8Z680-V Pro/Gen3 Motherboard better than my old Nvidia 8600GT card?

Title says it all, I’m about to upgrade my PC to the above motherboard with an i7 and 16GB RAM. Until I decide which graphics card to get, will the onboard GPU do a better job than my old GeForce 8600GT, or should I put that card back in for the time being? I’m not into games, mostly video editing.

I would go with the on board, especially going to an i7. With Intel the iGPU is on the processor not on the Motherboard. That 8600 is 9 years old now severely limited by VRAM.
