Is the Pentium G2020 compatible with this motherboard?

I hope to upgrade my motherboard, and I want to know whether my Intel Pentium G2020 is compatible with the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard until I gather the money to upgrade my CPU.

No, the CPU is socket LGA 1155, while the motherboard is LGA 1150.

If the socket is the same, the CPU and motherboard will be compatible. However, the new Z97 chipset is hor LGA 1150 "Haswell Refresh" cpus, not Ivy-Bridge LGA 1155 cpus. Sorry.
