Is the Power Supply wattage my issue?

I transferred my components to a new case. The new case is a Deepcool Kendoman Red. I currently have a 500w Rosewill Stallion (~4 years old).

When I attempted to plug in 3 (of 5) case fans (only had 3 connectors), the computer would not start. Once I disconnected 1 case fan attached to the mobo, it started up just fine.
Other Components:
MATX Gigabyte z97 Gaming 5
i5 4690k (non OC) + cooler
r9 270 HIS
1 HDD
1 SSD
2x4GB Ripjaw 1600 DDR3
no optical drives
2 case fans running.

Do I need to bump up to 600w or so? Thanks in advanced.

One fan will not take the system over its wattage limit. If it is, then this means that as soon as your PC experiences even minimal load it will turn off.
