Question Is the processor being 6/12 more important than being quad but having higher frequency?

To put it in examples. The new Ryzen 3300 specs look like this https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-3000-series-16-core-cpu-specs,39304.html.
In comparison, the Intel Core i3 9th generation looks like this https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u.../9th-generation-intel-core-i3-processors.html

You can see that the Intel Core i3 has higher frequency but less cores and threads than the new Ryzen 3s. Which one is the better choice?

I would get a 6 core minimum for gaming since a lot of games out even now are starting to bottleneck under a 4 core CPU unless really high clock speeds . With Intel you always pay a premium doesn't matter if it's there low end or high end so amd in my opinion would be better for budget more bang for your money 🙂
