Can anyone tell me if the Xfx R9 270 video card is supported on the Asus M5A97 Le r2.0? When booting up it never seems to boot to Bios. Switching to another card does allow it to boot into the Bios.

Yes, you should be able to. Sometimes the type of BIOS that the card has will interfere, but it is rare. What happens when you turn on the PC now?
Is the 6 pin aux power cable connected to the card?

Hi Clutchc,
Yes the connector is connected to the video card. The fan comes on but nothing else happens. No beeps, nothing. The monitor button then changes from blue to orange and flashes no signal across the screen. It is driving me nuts. Any ideas other than throwing out off a third or fourth story window?

If you have your little MB speaker attached, you should be able to hear some beeps. 1 beep would mean all is well, more than that and you'd have to look up the beep codes for your MB. No beeps is weird (unless you don't have a MB speaker).

Try breadboarding the system outside the case. When you remove the board, check that there isn't an errant standoff under the board where there shouldn't be one. Test the system on an insulated surface with JUST the video card, monitor, KB attached (to a USB2.0 port). You can start the system by momentarily shorting the 2 pins that the case's power button would connect to. You should get a display (and be able to enter BIOS). If not, I would suspect the board is defective. If you have access to another gxf card, swap it out just to be sure it isn't the card that is defective. Or test the card in another machine.

I have tried removing the new R9 270 and swapping a older HD2460 in it's place. The MOBO will then post and go into the Bios. I just thought there might be something I am missing that is making the new card not boot. Bios setting, clearing the CMOS after installing, some other kind ritual, or sacrifice. Since I have tried all I can think of, and tried two different new MOBO's. I am leaning towards the video card just being doa. I will try what you suggested above, tonight and see what happens.
