is the R9 390x worth it ? or 970 ?

i was going to pick a GTX 970 but i saw this card and now im confused.
Honestly i dont like AMD but if the 390x is better than the 970 i will go with it.
so what is better GTX 970 or AMD R9 390x ?

get the r9 390 over the 390x you can get it for 330$ on b@h

the r9 390 will consume a lot more power than the 970 and will cost more in the long run.

It's worth it and as far as I am aware better. But that is mainly due to the fact that it isn't really meant to compete with the GTX970, the regular R9 390 is.

GTX 970 is a great card. Get one of the EVGA models for some good overclocking.
