Just had these 2 pieces in an old computer and it kept freezing after upgrading from a ryzen 3 1200 to ryzen 5 5600x (worked fine when i swapped the cpu's back). I decided to build a new pc with new parts but I wanted to take the ram however I don't know if it's going to be a problem. I have them on a new board which is now a b450m tomahawk max 2 but I use to have a b450 mortar..

Just need some advice on whether to bring my old ram with me or to buy new

AX4U2800W4G17 specs-
  • Frequency Speed: DDR4 2133MHz
  • Compatibility: DDR4 2133 CL 15-15-15 at 1.2V
  • Operating Temperature: 32 - 185°F (0 - 85°C)
  • Storage Temperature: -67 - 212°F (-55 - 100°C)
  • Operating Voltage: 1.2V

If you're going to be working with a Ryzen 5600x, you should look at a dual channel DDR4-3600MHz ram kit, provided you're working with a B450(or a B550) chipset motherboard. You might want also to state what you're working with right now for ram.

Well, I included the ram specification in the question but this is what i'm working with. I want to know if this will run okay with my ryzen 5 5600x as it's not in the compatible menu

I have ordered Corsair CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4

but it arrives tomorrow however I really want to try to boot my pc as I've just built it but I don't wanna risk breaking anything as I have spent a fair amount.

There's no reason it shouldn't work since it's so low speed, in any case, what's stopping you from trying ?
