Question Is the RM850X (2021) the right PSU for my needs?

The thing is, my CPU doesn't use more than 30W and my GPU doesn't use more than 240W no matter what game I've played so far. And I've played and monitored a lot in the past year. It's probably cuz I don't play on ultra settings and I always play 60fps. Since my GPU is a RX6800XT I know I need a 850W cuz of the spikes, but the RM850X (2021) reviews says that the fans of the PSU activate only after like 400W onwards. So in my case, they would never activate cuz I never use that much power. Is it then better to get a PSU who's fans are running even at low usage? Just to keep the air circulating and stuff like that? Cuz I don't have any extra fans in the case. I just completely remove one side of the case when gaming and that works like a charm for me.

It will be based on temperature, not necessarily a wattage.

Fans are cheap, and you don't have to move all that much air for silence and decent cooling performance.

You are not wrong that a larger PSU will stay in silent mode longer, if that is what you are after, you can go a step up and look at Platinum and Titanium rated PSUs.

A good 750w is enough for a 6800xt, but nothing wrong with getting a high quality 850w for a bit more buffer. That PSU is a bit overpriced though. If I were buying a new PSU today, I would choose this one. 10yr warranty and great deal right now.

And the 750 watt does as long as it is of good quality like what I have in my signature with the 5900x
