Is the RX 480 compatible with my motherboard?

Hey, I need to get a new graphics card and I would like to know if
the AMD RX 480 is compatible with me motherboard.
My specs are
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770S
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45

Why would it fry the motherboard? Would it be the power supply or the motherboard
cant pump enough electricity to the GPU?

I have ultimately decided to pick the GTX 1060.
I am picking the dual fan Gigabyte Windforce.
It is 8.8 inches and will perfectly fit in my machine
with an inch left at most.
