[SOLVED] Is the RX 590 really this weak?

When I bought a RX 590 for my old FX-8350 (4.6GHz), I expected that the old CPU would bottleneck the GPU, but what the heck. I went for it.
However, I was playing Obduction on epic settings (1920x1080) and had MSI aferburner running... the 8 cores were really low in usage. 30-50%. But the GPU was maxed out most of the time at 99% usage! With some stutter. I'm kind of shocked. I figured that the CPU would bottleneck the GPU, not the other way around. Does this surprise anyone else?

Maybe because the OBDUCTION game is more GPU-bound, rather than the CPU ? RX 590 is not a weak card though. Some games are CPU-bound, whereas others are more GPU-intensive.

The game only recommends a 4th-gen i5, but recommends a GTX 970/R9 290. Not particularly surprising. It requires more GPU than it does CPU.

OK. Makes sense I guess. Maybe there's still life in the old 8-core Visera for those kind of games then. Glad to know my new graphics card isn't a dud.
