Question Is the Ryzen 5 5600X strong enough

Hello!
I am building a new computer and i want to put in the RTX 3080. Is the Ryzen 5 5600X strong enough for video gaming at max settings?
Of course I will have 16GB ddr4 3600 ram and a 1tb ssd

There isn’t really any cpu that’s significantly better. A big question is what resolution and Hz is your monitor? At a low resolution like 1080p the 3080 is way overkill and will be held back by even the best CPU’s.

I am unsure if I should get a 240hz at 1080p or 144hz at 1440p any suggestions?
I like competitive gaming if that matters .
