Hey guys, I got a chance to buy the said PSU in a very good price with 5 years of warranty, I know the not EVO model is pretty old, but is it still good?

I can pay around 25% more and get the G-650...

I would get the newer one (I might be biased, its what I have) as it supports all the new power saving modes without playing with bios settings. I don't need 650 either, its just what i got... i read reviews and they are rated to run at 50 over if need be but not constantly. Also offer more protections than older models.

Well, there is that possibility. Easily overcome if you tell the computer to not use the power-saving modes that put it into such a low power state that it can trigger older PSUs under-current protection.

The G-550 (Gold) and the M12II-620 costs pretty much the same (the G is slightly more expensive)
I dont really need the extra W, should I just go for the newer G one?

I'm running i5-6600 on a MSI H170A PC-MATE
