Is the Sony Alpha DSLR-A290 any good

i am looking at buying the DSLR-A290 from sony and its $480 what do you think of this camera?

never tried sony SLR cameras, but i heard that its a fast cam, or so its what they claim, but i dont see anything wrong with just buying it , it is cheap.
