is the SSD 950 PRO compatible with the msi 970 gaming mobo

Hello guys!
I was wondering if my current mobo, MSI 970 gaming (AM3+) is compatible with the Samsung 950 Pro SSD? mobolink - SSDlink
For some reason there isn't a lot of info to be found online about this subject..

If it is a Sata drive, it will work with no problem. That motherboard is SATA III, so you should be good.

does that motherboard even have a m2 slot?

its a little confusing with m2 drives unfortunately--he means the speed of it not the connector

m2 drives come in sata or pci-e versions even though they both use m2 connector

the sata m2 is only as fast as a good 2.5 ssd

the pci-e m2 is up to around 6 maybe 7 times faster than a 2.5 ssd

but then theres also the is your motherboard pci-e x2 or x4 capable for m2 question as well

like i said m2 is a bit confusing to a lot of people

in your case not even sure you even have a m2 slot

The MSI 970 GAMING MB is not equipped for M.2 and the 950 PRO is M.2.
