Just ordered a P4 2.4 northwood retail box (which comes with sink and fan). Is this adequate since i have no plans to overclock the system? Would a different sink/fan combo affect performance? Thanks for you advice...

...you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him

yes...the stock cooler is more than adequate...even for overclocking (if you ever want to overclock that is)

I'm curious here, my PC is running at 54 degrees(idle) and 64 degrees(full load). Is that too much for a P4 at 2AGHz running with the Sanyo Denki stock cooler?

my spec is:
P4 2AGHz(intel stock cooler)
MSI 6566E (Intel 845E)
my casing has 2 out-take fans(80*80mm)
Generic 375W PSU with 2 fans (in n out take)

Pls shed some light on this matter. thanks a lot !

That is about 10C higher that you would want, but not all software is accurate for reporting it. Are both those exhaust fans on the rear?

At least half of all problems are caused by an insufficient power supply!

FYI, i'm using MBM 5, yes both fans r on the rear sucking hot air from inside n blowing them out, n i think the prob is not from my PSU. what gives?
