Is the the i5 2500k a still good cpu to use?

i have a i5 2500k running with a small oc of 3.4ghz but i am a huge noob of oc and i have seen that oc'ing some cases is very pointless and will you give small incresses and big incresses but will my i5 2500k be a good cpu for the next 2 years with a 960 or a upgrade will be needed?

the 2500k it still a great CPU, even at stock speeds. It should last through at least two years and a couple of GPU upgrades too

Thanks was going mad, somebody told me this cpu is compelty pointless to keep for one more year and a upgradeise needed but hey looks like it going to fine after all

CPUs haven't really advanced since the 2xxx series anyway. With the right motherboard and cooler an overclocked i5-2500k is as good for gaming as any cpu on the market really
