Is the Windows 8 Upgrade compatible with Windows 7 OEM?

I currently have Windows 7 64-Bit OEM edition. I would like to upgrade to Windows 8 for Battlefield 4 performance boosts. Is the Windows 8 upgrade compatible with my OS?

You are most welcome. Before upgrading, be sure to download all of your major drivers for Win 8 (video card, chipset, network adapter, etc) and have available.
