I currently have a century link modem with runs through the DSL line and it constantly gets turned off whenever my roommates get mad and it effects me because I just want to chill on my gaming computer.

Question? Could I add another DSL line to ran a separate modem from a separate internet provider so that I could play undisturbed?

Solution
In most cases yes. Most houses have multiple pairs of phone lines run to them. You should be able to have a second DSL connection put on a different pair of wires. You will likely need a special cable on in your room or need to rewire the wall jack so that your modem can connect to the second pair. The standard phone line put the main line on the center 2 pins the second phone line is generally on the 2 pins on either side of the pair in the center.

The phone installer will likely help you get this wired correctly.
