Is there a big difference between 6GB and 8GB of RAM?

I want to get a laptop for gaming (mostly last gen titles but certain newer games) and it comes with 6GB of RAM.

Is 6GB enough? Is it worth paying extra for 2GB of RAM?
(I want to be playing games on medium - high settings)

System gets slow and slugish when its low on memory. 6GB fill up really fast, there is a difference. Just take 8GB, its worth it.

There really isn't much of a difference in gaming right now, but in 2 years the difference could be significant.

I had a beast of a rig water cooled r9 290x 3570k and so forth and I never once had a problem with 6GB of ram. But if it was a choice I'd agree with the above that 8GB is better as it gives you headroom, and as applications become more demanding you're alreasy giving yourself a better chance of keeping up. I'd say 8GB is the wise decission
