Is there a certain way to start a PC?

The reason i ask, is because i bought a brand new PC and when i turn it on i just get a non blinking white underscore...but when i do something in terms of what order i switch the monitor on or desktop on first it works.

Is there a specific order in which to do things.

I leave the power on to everything - PC, Monitor, Speakers. I just use the switch on the PC to start it up. And the Shutdown Button on Desktop to shut it down.

sometimes you can have to many items plugged into the usb ports of your desktop. if you do on power up they can lock up your rig. try powering on your desktop with just the mouse and keyboard plugged in and turned on. if your rig keeps doing it run hdtune check that the hard drive or ssd does not have spin up issues. if it an ssd make sure you have the newest firmware on it.
