Hi . Please let me ask you a question .
I have a PC with 2 different video cards and I connect them to the monitor with a Display Port cable .
The reason I have 2 cards is because I want to have one that can be used for WinXP (since the later cards no longer support WinXP) .
So I would like to have a switcher to switch from one card to the other , because now I have each time to disconnect the cable from the one card and put it into the other .
Of course I am only interested to do this while the PC is turned OFF . I am only changing cards before starting the computer , not while it functions .

I found this on amazon , but I am not sure if this is what i need .

I'm no pro but the item you have the link there for seems to be what you need. That is designed to have (2) Display Port Inputs that can be switched to a Single Display Port output.

My monitor supports 144 Hz . Are such devices going to reduce the refresh rate ?
To be honest I never got above 120 Hz in modern games , so I thing 12 Hz would be fine , but I don't know if the switchers affect the refresh rate .

The specs say it only supports 4K @ either 40Hz or 30Hz.
What resolution are you running?
If your only running 1080p it might support a higher refresh rate but you'd have to find the specs for that switch, it doesn't seem to list them.

There are many to choose form on Amazon, such as:

I was using something like this to allow sharing a monitor for a laptop and PC.
The problem was when I toggled to the PC, the laptop moved all panels/images off the monitor and back onto the small laptop screen.

For 2 desktops you wont have that problem.
I paid around $11 a few months ago. Dirt cheap and worked easily enough.
Techole HS305 was what I got.
