Is there a difference between the two PCI Express?

Does it matter whether I stick my vid card on the southern most PCI-Express? Will it still be recognized? Will I see any reduced performance?

I have a good reason for doing this so Im asking to make sure my idea will work.

I plan on getting a pro card later down the future when I get really good at after effects and 3D apps. For now, Im in a learning stage so I know those cards will be too much for me at the moment. A xt1900xt will suffice until I get good enough to deal with lots of polygons and stuff.


I would then install a dual boot, and disable my 1900xt on one, and enable the quadro/firegl on the other boot. I have a friend with a firegl card so ill definately test that setup before buying it. Thanks!!!
